OMOP: Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership

Description

The OMOP Common Data Model maps Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to common concepts. OHSU has an OMOP database that maps information from the OCTRI Research Data Warehouse. By mapping disparate data sources to common concepts, data become comparable both within and outside of OHSU.

Epic EHR data are stored in the OCTRI Research Data Warehouse (RDW) for research purposes. These data are mapped to common concepts (such as LOINC codes) and stored in the OMOP database. The OMOP common data model is governed by OHDSI: Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (https://www.ohdsi.org). More information about the OMOP common data model can be found here: https://www.ohdsi.org/omop/

The OMOP database is stored on the same Oracle Server as the OCTRI Research Data Warehouse. The OMOP database is updated weekly.

Access requirements

Request for data from the OMOP database should go through the OCTRI intake: https://octri.ohsu.edu/redcap/surveys/?s=jKxNzqKq3p Questions can be directed to octrihlp@ohsu.edu
